Black Hill Media (updates)

Returning to Service

Hey everyone sorry for the lack up updates, quite a few things have been happening that have rather distracted the team and production.

First of all, the University Internet at Sunderland as been patchy but this has since improved, prompting planning for episode of the Black Hill Podcast.

Second of all, my grandmother died a fortnight ago, creating quite an upheaval. I’m sure going to miss her.

Third and last of all, I was involved in a car accident on tuesday evening which wrote off my car and left me and my passengers with whiplash and sore heads and the usual glass induced cuts and bruises.

But, we’re all alive and planning on getting the show back on the road as soon as possible, so stand by for further information.

Okay, what just happened?

So where have we been? Unfortunately, I have been ill with some evil cold/‘flu/lurgy hybrid and even when I was feeling well enough to podcast the university internet connection would become insanely feeble and I would be left staring in disbelief as something as simple as Google took over a minute to load. Ah well.

But things are looking up now. I have talked with Zach and we may shift recording times so that he’s not missing afternoon time and I have a decent internet connection. I have also just added a new cartoon for in the meantime. Hang in there folks, updates to be announced!

We're Back!

Hey everyone, it may have taken longer than I anticiptaed but we’re finally back. Black Hill Media is now bing run off of a shiny black MacBook and the website created through RapidWeaver 4, the latest edition of RW available for Leopard. My continued thanks to RealMac Software, and also to DreamHost who have been understanding and patient through all my minor panics.

I aim to have the podcast running again as soon as possible, and I will create some new graphicky stuff as soon as I can glean some inspiration for something to draw.

Thank you for sticking by us during this small hiccup in the transition period!

Website Hiatus

Okay people, here's the deal. I get a new MacBook in nine days time. I was wondering for ages whether or not to carry on hosting the website from my Mac Mini but its recent performance (or really, lack of) has made me decide for definite that the website will now be hosted from my MacBook. What does this mean? Well it means that apart from this update right here, there won't be another until I am safely moved to the MacBook. Episode fourteen of the Black Hill Podcast will be posted as soon as the internet stays clear enough for long enough to upload it, and then after that the next major update will be when the computer switcheroo is complete in just over a weeks time.

Thank you for bearing with us through this period of computery deathness. Its actually mainly BT's fault. Again.

Graphics Tablet To The Rescue! - Conclusion

Hey all, just to say that my graphics tablet arrived safely last week and since then I've been doodling with it quite a lot. Head over to Toons to see my latest work!

Graphics Tablet To The Rescue!

Sorry but I didn't know this in time to announce it for the podcast, but I have just placed an order for a new graphics tablet to replace the old scanned-in ink and paper cartoon construction method. Its will herald the dawn of a new age of awesomeness!

Nick agrees that this is indeed awesome, and that it is amazing that the computer recognises "awesomeness" as a word.

So yeah, by next week I should have begun on my new epic quest of webcomiccy goodness. All hail Waccom. And Apple of course... And we must all now unite to destroy HP and their damn scanners and rubbish software!

New Disk, New Site

Well that was most certainly an interesting experience. On tuesday night we suffered a power-cut whilst my computer was moving system files around. The result? A computer that wouldn't boot up. So I had to wipe the hard disk and start afresh. And in some ways I'm not upset about it at all. My computer is now running insanely fast again like a good Mac should, and I had the most excellent excuse to change the website theme to something much much better.

The site is having to be rebuilt from scratch though, so its going to take a while for everything to reappear. The podcasts have been replaced, and if you're already subscribed you're going to find that the next time you sync that all the podcast episodes are duplicated. Thats my fault, not yours, and I advise you delete the duplicates.

If you feel like dropping in a comment on the new design or just asking how everything is going, please feel free to use the contact links at the foot of each page.

Will; signing off.
